• 28.12.2003 Doris gave us more puppies! It was a quick birth - five puppies in one hour and 12 minutes. Read more from the New Puppies page. Many thanks to Kiti (kennel Visakoivun) for being a maternity nurse in both whelpings!

  23.12.2003 Lulu is a mom! Three puppies were born early in the morning. Lulu did a great job - our maternity nurse, the real old hand Kiti said it was the easiest Basenji birth she has ever handled! More info on the New Puppies page.

• 15.12.2003 The magazine of the Finnish Kennel Club 'Koiramme' published the final points of the Best Veteran of the Year 2003 competition. Ceci was placed 24th out of all veterans in Finland!! She got also an invitation to the Veteran of Veterans competition! Ceci was shown only during three months this year. Hurray for Ceci!!!

• 06.12.2003 Helsinki INT Show under the new Basenji judge Mr Unto Timonen (Finland): Zorro was in the show ring since July - he got an Excellent and was 4th in the champion class! Sylvi delighted us by gaining an Excellent and Nana got Very Good! Now we're having a break from the shows for concentrating on the pups-to-be.

• 16.11.2003 Jyväskylä INT Show was the first big show indoors for our little girls. At the age of 9 months they were shown first time as juniors. Nana did nicely by gaining an Excellent and taking the 4th place in junior bitches out of nearly 10! Poor Sylvi was not relaxed at all - she was clearly too nervous and the judge, Mr Ronald James (UK) said she needs more experience..

• 27.10.2003 New puppers hopefully coming - Doris was mated with Jussi! More info on the New Puppies page.

• 26.10.2003 We had a great day at Lahti All-breeds Puppy Show! Nana was BOB Puppy and Sylvi was second with Honour Prize! Nana continued to the group competition and she won it by being BIG-1!! Then in the BIS ring Nana ended up BIS-2!! The little princess was second most beautiful puppy of the show out of nearly 500 puppies!!! Judge was Mrs Eeva Resko (Finland).

• 21.10.2003 Lulu was mated with Kössi - if we are lucky we will get some puppies as a christmas present! Read more from the New Puppies page.

• 14.10.2003 Doris' Hip dysplasia certificate arrived from the Finnish Kennel Club, classification result: right hip A (normal, no signs of hip dysplasia) and left hip B (near normal hip joints).

• 05.10.2003 Tampere Group Show judged by Mrs Marianne Baden (Denmark): Nana was BOB Puppy and Sylvi was second! They both got Honour Prizes!! Big brother Kide was also in the show ring after a long time - he got an Excellent and was third in his class!

• 29.09.2003 Doris' eyes were RES-examinated with the result of clear eyes! Her hips were also X-rayed, waiting for the result from the Finnish Kennel Club.

• 14.09.2003 Nana was at her first official show in Äetsä at the age of 7 months - she was second in female puppies and was awarded with the prize of honour (HP)! Nana's aunt Kipa got to the show ring too and with some really nice results - she got an excellent, was second best open class bitch and gained a RES-CC!! Judge was Mr Freddie Klindrup from Denmark.

• 07.09.2003 News from the Czech Republic: Gilla was first time shown officially at an INT show. She got a Very Promising and was second best female puppy with a great critique! We got also new photos from CR - check out Gilla's page & her new photo page no 3!
  

• 30.08.2003 Sissi was shown at an all-breeds show in Hakunila under Mr Paavo Mattila (Finland). She got a Very Good and was second best bitch in open class.

• 24.08.2003 Familia Puppies were in the showring for the very first time at a Puppy Show in Helsinki: Sylvi was BOB Puppy and delighted us by being also BIG-2!! Nana was second in female puppies. Faro got the first prize with an excellent critique but no HP - unfortunately he was afraid of the judge and didn't let her touch. The judge was Mrs Pirkko Konttinen (Finland).

• 17.08.2003 Ceci was shown at Joensuu all-breeds Show - she was BOB Veteran under Mr Iuza Beradze (Georgia) and later ended up BIS-4 Veteran judged by Mrs Ritva Raita (Finland)!! At the same show Ceci's brindle coloured son Sakke was BOS - Congratulations to the proud owners Terttu & Urpo Keränen!

• 06.08.2003 Sissi was shown at a Match Show in Kotka with the result of BIS - well done Saara & Sissi!!!

• 03.08.2003 Trck racing competition in the Finnish Basenji Club's Summer Day happening in Hyvinkää: Kipa surprised us with the result of 2nd fastest female and Ceci won the veterans!!

• 27.07.2003 Nice day at Mikkeli INT Show: Zorro won the champion males and charmed the judge Mr David Wong from Australia who also gave Zorro a RES-CACIB! Lulu was second best champion bitch and also got a RES-CACIB! The grand old lady Ceci charmed the judge, too like his son and took 1st in female veterans and went onto BOB Veteran once more!! In the BIS ring Ceci made a cut and was among the 8 best veterans!

• 26.07.2003 Zorro and Lulu were shown at Helsinki all-breeds Super Summer Show under Mrs Marja Talvitie (Finland). The results were Zorro Excellent 1 and Lulu Excellent 3!

• 21.07.2003 Happy Birthday to 13-year-old Kira!!!

• 20.07.2003 Ceci had a great day at Forssa all-breeds show - she was BOB-veteran and again placed in BIS-ring by being BIS-4 Veteran!!! The breed judge was Mrs Martha Heine from Germany and Mr Karl-Erik Johansson from Sweden took the veterans. At the same show Zorro got Excellent 2 and Lulu Excellent 1!! Little Nana was with us at the show just as a tourist - visit her own page to see some photos of her practising to pose.

• 15.07.2003 Both Lulu and Ceci were eye examined (Ceci again at the age of 8,5 years) - they both have clean eyes!!

• 13.07.2003 At Hyvinkää all-breeds judged by Mrs Anita Witmarsh (Sweden): Zorro was 3rd best champion male, Lulu 2nd best champion female and Ceci BOB-veteran (Ceci wasn't shown in BIS-veteran ring)! They all got Excellents!

• 05.07.2003 Despite the heavy rain Tuusula all-breeds show went fine under the breeder judge Leila Kärkäs (kennel Mandeville, Finland): our pride and joy Lulu was shown in the champion class for the second time - she was again Best Bitch & BOB with an excellent critique! But granny Ceci really made our day by winning BOB-veteran and finally BIS-4 veteran (out of around 50 veterans!) under Mr Seamus Oates (Ireland)!!

• 29.06.2003 We had a family meeting of Kanjaras Familia litter at Sylvi's summer home. Faro, Nana, Sylvi, mom Doris & granny Ceci were enjoying the sunny summer day. Have a look at the photos on the Gallery page!

• 22.06.2003 Kipa and Lulu are holidaying in Rovaniemi, Northern Finland with their co-owner Sanna. Sanna also showed Lulu at Rovaniemi all-breeds Midsummer Show. Lulu was in the Champion class for the frist time and she was Best Bitch & BOB!!! The judge was Mrs Marja Talvitie (Finland) who is the judge member of our Basenji Club's Breeding Committee. Well done Sanna & Lulu and thanks!!

• 14.06.2003 Ceci was shown at Laukaa all-breeds show under Mr Paavo Mattila (Finland). She won the female veterans and was again BOB-veteran! Now it's time to holiday!

• 08.06.2003 was Lulu's day! At Salo all-breeds show Lulu got an excellent, took 1st in her class and went onto Best Bitch & BOS! But what's best - Lulu finally received her last CC from Finland and finished her Champion title! Lulu is from now on called FIN & N CH, FIN JW-01 Kanjaras Kianga!! Congrats to Lulu & co-owner Sanna! Zorro was also shown there - he got an excellent too and was second best champion male! Judge was Mrs Saija Juutilainen from Finland. Lulu's critique can be viewed on her own page.

• 07.06.2003 The Finnish Basenji Specialty in Onnela, Tuusula judged by the breed specialist Mr Robert Cole (Canada): Lulu got an excellent in open bitches and took 4th in the class (out of 11)! Mom Doris was shown in the champion class and she got an excellent too. But our oldie Ceci really delighted us - she was best female veteran and finally went on to win BIS-Veteran!!! Ceci's critique can be viewed on her own page. Ceci's progeny group was 4th with HP (out of six)! Both Lulu and Ceci were also invited to compete for the best gait and in the final turn Lulu was placed second!

• 04.06.2003 We received great news from the FCI again: Lulu's second RES-cacib from Oulu INT on 13th Oct '02 is a CACIB for her!!! So that will be Lulu's first CACIB and she has now four CACIBs - three from Finland and one from Norway, just great!

• 24.05.2003 Aptus all-breeds show in Helsinki judged by Mr Siegfried Peter (Germany): Zorro got an excellent and was 2nd best champion class male! Lulu won her class in open bitches and grandmom Ceci was once again BOB-veteran!!

• 20.05.2003 Match Show in Helsinki: Dina was 2nd in red ribbons judged by Mrs Ritva Raita (Finland)!

• 18.05.2003 Lulu & grandmom Ceci were shown at Leppävirta all-breeds show. Ceci won her class in veterans and was again BOB-veteran! Lulu got an excellent and was 2nd in open bitches. Judge was Mrs Norman Deschuymere from Belgium.

• 17.05.2003 More new champions.. At Hamina all-breeds show under Mr Hans Almgren (Sweden) Zorro got an excellent, was best open class male and finally got his last CC from Finland. So from now on Zorro is called FIN CH Kanjaras Zindika and he is proud to be the first Champion at kennel Kanjaras! Congrats and thanks to Ari, Riitta & Zorro!! At the same show Lulu got also an excellent, won her class in open bitches and received her second RES-CC from Finland! Sissi was also shown at this show and she ended up 3rd in open bitches! The grand old lady Ceci was also in the show ring again and she ended up BOB-veteran!!

  On the same day in Czech Republic little Gilla was in the show ring for the very first time. She was shown in the Specialty of the Basenji Klub Bohemia where they had an unofficial competition for little puppies. Six puppies entered and Gilla was the best - greetings to Miluse!!

  Ceci is the first brindle coloured basenji to become an international champion (at least in the FCI area)!!! She is also the only one so far!

• 09.05.2003 Ceci is now an International Champion!!! FCI confirmed the title on 18th April 2003.

• 22.04.2003 Gilla left for Czech Republic, to kennel Hanacek - Thank you Miluse & Frantisek for providing such a loving home for Gilla! Thank you Anna for taking Gilla to Czech Republic! Thank you Lucie for taking care of everything! Thank you Kirsi for handling the flights! Thank you Kiti for loaning the bag for Gilla! All the very best of luck to dear Gilla - we miss you!!! • 19.04.2003 Lappeenranta Easter Show under Mrs Jackie Perry (Thailand): Zorro gained his second RES-CC and Lulu was #2 in open bitches with an excellent.

• 12.04.2003 Match Show news from Kotka - Sissi was BIS-3 with nice prizes (18 kg Purina Pro Plan), well done and congrats to Saara & Sissi!

• 06.04.2003 Narvik INT Show in Norway under judge Mr Göran Bodegård (Sweden): Lulu took home CC, CACIB, BOB & BIG-3 with the critique saying only "As good as it can be!"... Lulu's sire Miska (also sire to the newest Kanjaras Puppies) was BOS, became a Norwegian Champion and gained his last CACIB towards International Champion title! Congrats to Lulu & Miska!!

• 15.03.2003 Tampere INT Show under Mr Jean-Louis Grünheid (France): Both Zorro and Lulu got excellents and won their classes! Lulu also gained a RES-CC and a RES-CACIB which will be a CACIB for her!!

• 23.02.2003 Results of the Finnish Basenji 2002 competition were published. The first Kanjaras Kids had their first official show year - Zorro was TOP4 Basenji Dog and Lulu was TOP5 Basenji Bitch!! Kide entered the list too! Well done kids!!! The old lady Ceci was TOP2 Basenji Veteran of the Year and in the Bitch competition Ceci went onto TOP9!

• 15.02.2003 At Imatra INT Show judged by Mrs Zafra Sirik (Israel) Zorro won a RES-CC and picked up his third CACIB from Finland, well done Zorro!! Lulu got an excellent and won her class in open bitches!

• 26.01.2003 Zorro and Lulu were first time shown with the new show rules at Turku INT Show. They both received excellents (certificate quality) and placed 3rd in their classes under Mrs Marion Spavin (GB)!
